Brew Monday for Blue Monday 2025 – Creating Brighter Days for Care Workers

Blue Monday and Brew Monday

With ‘Blue Monday’ taking place on the 20th January, we wanted to get ahead of the Monday Blues and work alongside the Care Workers Charity for their ‘Brew Monday’, to create a brighter day for health and social care workers across the UK.

What is ‘Blue Monday’?

‘Blue Monday’ is the third Monday in January, and gets its name from being the gloomiest day of the year. The Care Workers Charity are working to combat the blues for our care workers, renaming this to ‘Brew Monday’, encouraging care companies and care workers to join forces over a warm brew, and a heartfelt chat.

How to ‘Beat The Blues’

If you are looking to beat the January Blues, think about these next few tips and tricks you can practice to help keep spirits high and the blues away.

Be realistic about your ‘New Year Resolutions’

Have you set some ‘New Years Resolutions’ this year? Struggled to succeed at them in the past? Try setting some realistic and attainable new years resolutions, that you KNOW you will be able to achieve by the end of the year. Not only will it be more rewarding if you succeed at your resolutions, but you won’t be put down by ‘failing’ at unrealistic resolutions.

Prioritise self-care

Had a busy December? Time to wind down? Try and find time in January (when more often than not, your schedule may be quieter!) to make time for yourself after the hectic festivities.

Try setting aside 1 day a week to unwind with a self-care day, start journaling by writing down your plans and goals for the year, or even book yourself in for that well deserved massage! Start the year off on a good note, and prioritise your mental and physical well-being this year.

Make exciting plans for 2025

It’s come round to January, the beginning of the year; so, what have you got planned for 2025?

If you don’t have any ‘exciting’ plans as of yet for 2025, start contacting your friends and family to get those plans in the diary.

Whether it’s a 4-day city break, or a picnic in the park, make sure you’ve got exciting plans and activities to look forward to!

Join us for a brew!

In true ‘Brew Monday’ fashion, we encourage all of our staff to visit our head office for a hot drink and a chat with one of our team members. We have an open door policy here at Homecarers, so whether it is ‘Brew Monday’ or not, you can always join us for a brew and a chat.
