For National Apprenticeship Week 2022, HCL would like to shine a spotlight on some of our apprentices.
Employee development is critical to our organisation, and we encourage our employees to advance their skills and knowledge through online and work-based learning.
On that note, HCL would like to introduce Bibi – our Junior Accountant!
Bibi is originally from Spain, where she earned a Business Administration degree before deciding to emigrate to the UK to learn English and gain a sense of independence. Bibi worked in a variety of jobs before her apprenticeship, including kitchen porter, cleaner, and housekeeper. However, she decided to apply for the Level 3 Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) Diploma in order to expand on what she had learned in her previous studies.
She couldn’t wait to take on the challenge of studying in a new country!
Bibi has been working at HCL for just over a year and has learned a wide range of skills, including communication skills, company procedures, IT skills, and accounting knowledge, all of which help her carry out her daily tasks.
“I enjoy putting all of the knowledge that I have gained during my AAT course into practice,” Bibi says. “One of my favourite things about my role is that it is incredibly versatile; no two days are exactly the same.”
Bibi is an extremely hard-worker who constantly gives her best to the role. After completion of her Level 3 AAT, she can’t wait to continue onto the Level 4 and develop her skills and knowledge further.
When asked what the best part of working for HCL is, Bibi’s response – “the people. The work environment is supportive and friendly; I have great coworkers and a manager from whom I have learned a lot”.
