What have we been getting up to this December, you ask? Our team have been keeping busy planning our annual Christmas parties at Homecarers Liverpool and our Extra Care Scheme at Abbots Wood, putting together our Christmas Hampers for our service users, and taking part in Christmas Jumper Day 2024 for Save the Children.
Christmas Jumper Day
On the 12th December, our teams in Homecarers Cheshire and Homecarers Liverpool took part in Christmas Jumper Day 2024, fundraising for Save The Children. We wore our festive jumpers, elf suits and Father Christmas suits in support of the charity.
About Save The Children
Save The Children are a charity dedicated to ensuring that children in need and their families are supported in a number of ways, including;
- Providing support with maternal and new born health.
- Receiving the correct education.
- Reuniting families.
- Ensuring children and their families are fed and watered.
- Ensuring children and their families have access to healthcare.
- And much more.
Save The Children are an incredible charity, helping children and families in need across the world, which is why we wanted to help support them with their fundraiser this year.

Christmas Service User Parties
At Homecarers Liverpool, and our Extra Care Scheme in Chester, Abbots Wood, we also held two fabulous festive parties for both our staff and service users. Our Abbots Wood Christmas Party took place on the 7th December, with our Liverpool Christmas party taking place on the 12th December.
These parties involved a fun and festive quiz, carolling, cracker pulling, and even a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. We had a number of service users attend both parties, as well as a number of staff. We asked our service users what they thought about their time at the festive parties, and here is what they had to say:
“I attended the Homecarers Liverpool party and it was an absolutely amazing day. Amazing dinner, brilliant staff and lovely people there as well – a massive thank you to all the staff you were brilliant.”
“I had an absolutely amazing time at the party – it is good to just get out and socialise, so I will definitely be coming back next year.”
“Thank you for such a lovely time at the party – I really have had a lovely time.”
We had an incredible time with our service users and staff members at our festive parties – but more importantly, we would also like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of the staff who organised the day, putting a big smile on our service user faces, and spreading the festive cheer.
Service User Hampers
Finally, we have also started our annual Christmas hamper project for our service users – these hampers are filled with a number of items to help over the festive period, such as; tinned food such as soups and fruit, crackers, biscuits, tea, coffee, mince pies, blankets, hygiene products and much more.
We headed over to our local stores and filled our trolleys full of goodies, ready to fill our hampers. Pictured above is Michaela, Deputy Manager from our Liverpool branch, looking very pleased with her 2 full trolleys!
This project runs every year in both our Cheshire and Liverpool branches, helping support our service users who need it the most. Stay tuned to keep an eye on how we get on with our Christmas hamper project 2024!
