HCA Award for Best in Palliative/End-of-life Care Expertise
We are extremely pleased to announce that we have won the High Commendation Award for Best in Palliative/End-of-life Care Expertise at the HCA Awards 2025.
In partnership with Marie Curie, we deliver the STARs service, providing personalised, compassionate palliative care in the Liverpool City Region. Since 2017, we have supported over 1,500 service users, ensuring 95% are discharged within 24 hours, which has resulted in estimated savings of £150,000 per year for the NHS.
This award is a testament to the exceptional end-of-life care we provide with our outstanding STARS team, in collaboration with Marie Curie. At Homecarers, we believe in providing our service users with dignity and respect in their last days, and ensuring they are provided with the best quality of care, in line with the wishes of our clients.
Statement from Regional Director, Jack Gibson

We would like to take a moment to thank all of our incredible team who have made this possible, with congratulations from our Regional Director, Jack Gibson:
“This is great recognition and testament to the dedication you and our teams put in each day to ensure that we provide the highest level of care to the people within our services. End of life care is one of the most profound services we offer, requiring not just skill but also deep empathy. This award belongs to you all of our team! Thank you again for your tireless efforts and kindness, and we will continue to strive for excellence continuing to make a meaningful difference to our communities.”
Statement from Care Coordination Lead, Rebecca Halpin

We also received a statement from our Care Coordination Lead, Rebecca Halpin, who manages our exceptional STARS team in our Liverpool branch, and ensures we are providing a high quality of palliative care:
“Our palliative contract is one of the most rewarding I believe we provide – we strive to deliver the absolute best care possible whilst providing compassion and empathy to those we care for and their relatives.
I am incredibly proud to be part of such a wonderful team and proud of the team we have in the community for their dedication and compassion when delivering care. This award is certainly well-deserved.”
What a fantastic achievement for all of our staff here at Homecarers – we would like to congratulate all of our team for allowing us to achieve this prestigious award.
Here are to many more awards to come!
